Week 12 – NT scan

It was early in the morning and we went to KKH AMC level 2 for NT scan. A radiographer named Zhou Li Li scanned my tummy and keep asking me to empty my bladder.

From the results, twin A was 6.4cm while twin B was only 5.4cm and baby should be at least 6cm by week 12. Twin B seemed to grow slower even though within 5 days it grew from 4.4cm to 5.4cm but it’s still slower in average. Both foetus passed physical NT scan but blood test showed higher risk in chromosome 18 that will lead to Edward syndrome, so we were advised to go for more detail test. After seeking counsellor’s advice, we agreed to go for amniocentesis as this test can show the highest accuracy for twins. Blood tests will not be able to deter which DNA belong to which one.

Walking out of the hospital feeling worried, we went Guan Ying Temple to pray for the best.

Another Emergency Visit

Pain started the night before and I thought it will be fine the next day. The cramps were unbearable and it just felt like my uterus was super heavy pressing on my cervix. Adding on to the pain at my ovaries, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I called KKH hotline in the next morning and only to be able to catch them in the afternoon. As there’s no bleeding, I was willing to wait for my gynae to be available. If it’s too painful, I will have to go A&E and I know there won’t be any conclusion from there.

So I waited for the call and managed to book an appointment with Dr Tan. When I finally saw him, he mentioned that he can see me by just walking in during office hours!!! I should have done so in the morning.

Both babies are perfectly fine but I was not fine due to round ligament pain. My uterus was expanding more than usual and I can feel them pressing my cervix too.

I felt relieved seeing both are happy in my womb especially one of them was playing with its fingers.

I was given a week of HL and advised not to walk around. Panadols are safe for mummies 🙂

After a good night sleep with Panadol, I am better now!

Total duration: 2hr

Total bill: $110

Week 11 – size of a fig

I just went for blood test to test for Down syndrome and results will be out in 1-2 weeks time.

End of week 10 was really the worst days I had. I was fatigue and my morning sickness came anytime of the day. It’s not just at night anymore. It may start from morning or afternoon and all the way throughout the day. If I were to take public transport, it would be worst! I couldn’t take it anymore!!!!

I hope my baby twins are doing fine and let me enjoy my pregnancy journey… Please please….

Week 11 is getting bigger!!

Week 10 – Barely the size of kumquat

With 2 kamquarts in 2 sacs, my lower abdomen has pushed my belly up and now it’s pretty obvious to see my bulging belly. Seriously, I can’t wait till NT scan at week 12 when I’m just at the start of week 10. January is really a hard time to pass in order to say “Hi” to 2 lovely ones.

Advice to all ladies : start using anti-stretch cream once you feel itchy due to growth of belly.
